The role and key responsibilities
As a Data Management Expert, you will play a key role in establishing proper Data Management for our organization’s data. Your primary focus will be on the disciplines of Master & Reference Data Management together with Data Quality Management, ensuring our data is accurate, reliable, and a true asset for the business. You will help us ensure our data can drive business decisions and operational efficiency. You will ensure implementation of principles for how to manage Master and Reference Data and help foster trust in our data assets through Data Quality.

This role operates as a key member of the Data Management Team, actively contributing to the organization's overall Data Management ambitions. In addition to driving excellence in Master & Reference Data, and Data Quality Management, the Data Management Expert will collaborate closely with team members to support broader initiatives within Data Management such as Data Governance, ensuring management of data as a strategic asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement best practices for Master & Reference Data Management across the organization’s data landscape, driving alignment with business objectives.
  • Drive initiatives to embed effective Master & Reference Data Management practices into business processes, ensuring data is fit for purpose.
  • Define, implement, and enforce standards, principles, and procedures for robust Data Quality Management, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Develop and oversee processes for Data Quality Incident Management and Data Quality Analysis, ensuring swift resolution and learning.
  • Guide Data Area Owners and Data Stewards in defining, measuring, and reporting on KPIs for Data Quality, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with Data Area Owners, Data Stewards, and legal teams to ensure compliance with data-related laws and regulations, including data privacy and retention.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, acting as a bridge between stakeholders, business users, IT teams, data owners, and data consumers to align needs and.
  • Promote a culture of communication and teamwork to enhance the understanding and application of Master & Reference Data Management and Data Quality Management principles.
  • Evaluate, design, configure, and implement tools and systems for effective Data Quality and Master & Reference Data Management, keeping abreast of new technologies and solutions.
  • Shape and contribute to the organization’s “Long, Mid Data Plan” to ensure scalability, innovation, and alignment with long-term objectives.

About Finance & IT

You will join the Group function “Finance & IT”, which leads NCC´s strategic development and major change programs in the business. Finance & IT is NCC’s development and delivery function for IT as well as operations development and research & innovation. We are a Nordic organization working together closely under one common management. Cooperation in- and between units is key for us to deliver value to NCCs business areas, and therefore we have adapted an Agile team-based setup with a focus on collaboration, people and efficient delivery and development. 

 

Your experience and background 

  • Proven experience in Data Management, with a focus on Master & Reference Data Management and Data Quality Management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset, with the ability to understand and enhance complex data processes. We value individuals who thrive in challenges and approach them with creativity.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication and collaboration to work effectively across teams, with proven stakeholder management skills. Leadership abilities, even without formal authority, are a key asset.
  • Fluency in English and one Nordic language. Exceptional communication skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of DAMA International and the DMBOK2 Framework is a plus, reflecting alignment with industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products such as Office 365, Power BI, and Azure is a bonus. More importantly, a curiosity about new ideas and openness to change is what sets you apart.

 

Additional information

You will be reporting to the IT Competence Manager whilst working cross-functions in an Agile team driven by the Practice Lead of the area.

We see great advantage in the employee being based at our head office in Solna, but it is also possible to be stationed at any NCC office in the major cities of Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. The position requires some travelling, although we do apply a flexible way of working and strive to collaborate digitally as much as possible.
